The ambition is to create a lakefront without distorting the identity of the village but connecting alleys and viewpoints. After the redevelopment of via Regina and the construction of the public garden, the Municipality of Brienno plans to enhance the viewpoints over the lake with five light structures located in the most beautiful spots of the historic center.
Solarium in via della Torre and via del Biello
Following the example of the public garden and considering its crowding, the Municipal Administration has identified two panoramic points where to create solariums in via della Torre and via del Biello. The structures are in steel and wood, with the edges facing the lake folded in order to hide the supporting structures, so that the floors seem suspended.
Belvedere of via della Cappella and pier of Porto Nuovo
In via della Cappella there is still a wash house that was used until the 70s. The place is very suggestive, because the access is through an archway under a four-storey building on a panoramic embankment. In the space between the arch and the volume of the embankment a belvedere equipped with a staircase that plunges directly into the water, offers a beautiful view on the lake.
Walkway along the lake costline
The walkway consists of a cantilever balcony over the wall of the church garden and a floating platform, linked to the balcony and the shore. The trail offers new views of the town and the lake. The objective is pursued using small galvanized steel structures that draw a detailed plot. The balcony and the floating platform are paved with larch tables that, ageing, get a grey colour mingling with the landscape nuances.
